Modeler

Microspot Modeler is a professional interactive 3D modeling application that makes it simple to create and render your model and view the results as you are working.

Modeler can be used on its own or as an ideal companion product for Microspot Interiors enabling you to produce your own furniture items and accessories to add to the items already supplied with Interiors.

3D design tools at your fingertips

Modeler provides you with all the tools you will need to create beautiful 3D models. There are six simple and four more complex modeling tools to create basic shapes, these shapes can then be manipulated and fine tuned to create the more complex shapes that will make up your 3D models, this is done using our modifier tools, lathe, shear, construct and section.

A selection of lighting tools are also available from the tool palette. You can add spot lights or point lights to your models to create great effects when rendering or perhaps you are creating a light object for use in Microspot Interiors. You can even adjust the direction of the sunlight.

Adding a touch of rendered realism

Once you have finished working on your design in Modeler the final stage will be to render the model to show shadows and lighting but also to anti-alias(smooth) the scene ready for high resolution export. For this we provide the Microspot Renderer. Once rendered you have the option to export your design as a high resolution image i.e. jpeg, gif, tiff etc

Let construction begin

With Modeler's Construct palette creation of more complex shapes couldn't be easier. The user can simply assign one object as "A" another as "B" and then all you have to do is select the type of construction you wish to perfom whether it be Add, Subtract, Split or Intersect. You could even perform more intricate constructions using more than two objects at a time.

Fine tune and tweek your geometries

Geometries made up of paths and sections can be adjusted very accurately using our Section palette. You can select the points of the shape and turn them into a vertex, arc, spline or bezier. Points can be moved, added, adjusted and deleted giving you the ultimate control over exactly how you want to mould your shape.

Bring your designs to life

Once you have created your design masterpiece you are going to want to show it off right?! Modeler lets you do just that using our Animation tools, not only do they enable you to set a path for the camera to follow around your designs but you can also animate individual objects to create some great effects. Once your animation is ready you can export it as a Quicktime movie. Just take a look at the examples in our gallery.

3DS file support

Modeler has support for importing the 3DS file format. 3DS is the native file format of Autodesk 3D Studio Max a very widely used 3D modelling program available on the PC. This gives you access to the many thousands of 3D models available in this format on the internet.
